Doug has trained several world champion fighters. For the first 15 years of his career, he assisted John Johnson, boxing manager for several Columbus-based fighters, including James "Buster" Douglas. While associated with Johnson, Doug worked with one of the world's greatest boxing coaches, Ed Williams.

Doug has also assisted hundreds of local high school athletes in excelling at several sports, including football, baseball, wrestling, tennis and Lacrosse. Many of his athletes have won state championships and have gone on to compete at the college level, and some have become professional athletes.
